Napali Coast Boat Tours - Komohana Charters Kauai, Hawaii
Experience Kauai's NaPali Coast Like Never Before
The NaPali Coast stands as one of Hawaii's most dramatic natural landmarks. Towering sea cliffs rise 4,000 feet from turquoise waters, creating a landscape that's both ancient and otherworldly. At Komohana Charters, we take small groups along this legendary coastline where Hollywood movies are filmed and memories are made. Our captains know these waters intimately, from hidden sea caves to the best snorkeling spots where green sea turtles glide through coral gardens.
About Komohana Charters
Captain Koa founded Komohana Charters after spending twenty years exploring Kauai's waters. Born and raised on the island, he brings local knowledge that larger tour companies simply can't match. "Komohana" means "west" in Hawaiian - fitting since we focus on the western NaPali Coast where the most spectacular formations await.
We keep our groups small because the NaPali Coast deserves respect. You won't find crowds or rushed schedules here. Instead, you'll get personal attention, flexible itineraries, and stories about Hawaiian culture that have been passed down through generations. Captain Koa is also an ordained minister, adding a special touch to our wedding charters.
Our NaPali Coast Tour Services
Private 4.5 Hour Sightseeing and Snorkel Tour
Your private charter means no crowds, no strangers, just you and your group with the entire boat to yourselves. Perfect for families with kids or anyone wanting a personalized experience. We'll cruise past the famous Kalalau Valley, explore sea caves when conditions allow, and stop at prime snorkeling locations where tropical fish dart between coral formations.
The schedule is yours to adjust. Want to spend extra time photographing the coastline? Done. Prefer more snorkeling time? We'll find the perfect spot. Dolphins often join us, playing in the boat's wake while you snap photos. We provide all snorkeling gear, towels, and fresh water rinses.
8 Hour Fishing, Sightseeing, and Snorkel Tour
This full-day adventure combines the best of everything - world-class fishing, complete coastline sightseeing, and snorkeling at multiple locations. We use small tackle trolling with 4-6 inch lures to target Ulua, Omilu, Papio, Uku, and Kahala. Unlike most companies, you keep your catch.
Between fishing, we'll explore the entire accessible NaPali Coast. The extended time allows for leisurely exploration of remote beaches and optimal photography conditions. We've seen everything from Hawaiian monk seals to seasonal humpback whales on these longer trips.
Note: Non-Hawaii residents need fishing licenses from fishing.hawaii.gov - $20 for one day, $40 for seven days.
Elopements and Wedding Photo Shoots
Getting married with the NaPali Coast as your backdrop creates memories that last forever. Our wedding charters accommodate up to six guests for intimate ceremonies with towering cliffs as your natural altar. Captain Koa can perform the ceremony, or bring your own officiant.
The coastline provides incredible photo opportunities throughout the day. From secluded beaches to dramatic cliff faces that change color with the light, every angle tells a story. We can connect you with photographers who know these locations, or you can bring your own team.
Wedding packages start at $2,000 for 4.5 hours (bring your own officiant) or $2,400 if Captain Koa performs the ceremony and handles documentation.
Why Choose Komohana Charters
Small groups mean personal attention. Local knowledge means access to spots others miss. Our modern vessel carries comprehensive safety equipment, and we monitor weather constantly to ensure optimal conditions. We follow strict environmental protocols to protect the reef and marine life.
The NaPali Coast changes with the seasons, the weather, and even the time of day. Our captains read these conditions and adjust accordingly, ensuring you see this magnificent coastline at its best. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a proposal, or just want to experience Hawaii's natural beauty, we'll make it special.
